Automated Storage Systems New - SR/F Transfer Cart

AFT Automated Storage Systems, the innovative company that introduced the first of its kind rail running Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) with front mounted rotating forks, has created the first SR/F Transfer Cart. In keeping with its mission, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems listened to its clients and designed and produced the SR/F Transfer Cart to further reduce warehousing costs and increase automation.

AFT’s innovative team was charged with the task of creating a fully automated system, while keeping the same high standards and innovative technology. AFT developed the SR/F Transfer Cart that works in conjunction with its highly successful Automated Storage and Retrieval Material Handling SR/F Machine to create a fully-automated warehouse system. The SR/F Transfer Cart actually transports the SR/F Machine and its payload to the designated isle for material retrieval or storage.

How The SR/F Transfer Cart works with the SR/F Machine: The identified materials are placed at an Input/Output Station. The remaining procedures are all fully automated and computer controlled. The system senses the materials in the Input/Output Station and the SR/F Machine retrieves the materials and places them in the best targeted storage location determined by the system. If the storage location is on an isle other than the current isle, the SR/F Machine and its payload are automatically loaded onto the SR/F Transfer Cart without human intervention and moved to the designated isle. The AS/RS machine is released from the SR/F Transfer Cart and moves to the targeted storage location and the materials are deposited. The SR/F machine then proceeds with its next task. The same procedure is followed in reverse order for retrieval of materials.

The SR/F Transfer Cart, working in union with the SR/F Machine, crates significant benefits. It is a completely automated, computer controlled system, allowing full warehouse automation designed particularly for low-throughput storage. The SR/F Transfer Cart reduces the need to have a SR/F Machine for each isle. By reducing the number of SR/F Machines needed for each isle, there is clearly a reduction in costs. The SR/F Transfer Cart improves space utilization both vertically and horizontally - creating greater storage density. Limiting human intervention with a fully-automated computer controlled automated storage and retrieval system reduces errors and personnel or workforce requirements, as well as increase throughput workplace safety. AFT,’s Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) can accommodate changing business or warehouse conditions.
